Why Fabric Doorstops?
Doorstops are handy little things that allow you to prevent doors from swinging shut on windy days, or welcome the outdoors in on blissfully warm sunny days.
There are various types of doorstops on the market including metal, wooden and concrete, but we believe fabric doorstops are a winner. Why?
- The ability to choose from a wide range of fabrics and patterns allows coordination with your interior aesthetic, be that mid-century, farmhouse or coastal.
- They can be easily moved by adults and children alike, and, due to the soft sand filling, a fabric doorstop will prevent sore toes or damaged your doors if you accidentally kick them.
- Fabric doorstops are easy to move around - heavy enough to keep most doors open but light enough for all ages to lift and shift around.
How do I know how heavy my doorstop should be?
You can test the weight needed by placing a known weight, such as a bag of sugar or rice against it. For reference, our filled fabric doorstops weigh in at a touch under 2 kg - - heavier than most on the market. These are filled with sand. Our unfilled fabric doorstops can handle more weight 2.5-3 kg approximately and can be filled with a material of your choice. We recommend sand or gravel but you could also use lentils, rice and wheat.
